This one cup coffee maker that uses ground coffee is the best idea ever. One of us likes hazelnut; the other plain decaf. It is no more trouble than instant, but it's real coffee.

Swissgold filters make delicious coffee. Much better than my french press, which seems bitter. Easy to clean. I am the only one who enjoys an occasional cup of coffee in my household so it is perfect.

I was disappointed by the short brew time of this product.
I used to use a French press to make my coffee, which tastes good to me, but is a hassle to clean, and the French press vessel I have is very delicate. In addition, I want to buy pre-ground coffee (I'm just a casual coffee drinker, not a connoisseur) and the French press allows too much of the coffee grounds and sludge into my cup when using anything finer than coarsely ground coffee. I figured I would try this product, and get a similarly tasting cup of coffee without the grounds, but to my dismay, the brew time was too short, and the coffee didn't taste good to me. Liquid passes through in a few seconds. Perhaps I received a defective filter-- it doesn't appear to have any extra holes in it though.
Well, I also purchased a Medelco Personal Coffee Maker from Amazon, and it works much better. I don't think the filter is gold on the Medelco, but it is less expensive, and the brew time is longer, which is more to my liking. In addition, it keeps more of the grounds out of my cup.

This coffee gold coffee filter is a good thing. I have use it almost every day for many years when I want to make a single cup as my honey is not a coffee drinker. All one needs is hot water,mug,coffee
and you are good to go. Have taken this handy gadget on many vacations such as camping,RVing,tea drinking friend's home and even took it to China and used it in the hotel. I use a filter paper when I want easy clean up.
The reason I purchased a new one was I mistakingly cleaned the gold filter in bleach water and the gold filter decindegrated in areas and made a few holes in the gold filter. Still used it for more than a year, though. Actually I have not even opened the new one, now that I think of it.
The cost has increase by a few dollars since my last purchase more than 5 years ago.
